The CPC 1000 is a small, rugged car PC designed to work in harsh environments. It is made from a massive aluminum extrusion that helps remove internal heat. It is available in several configurations from
fanless with VIA 600 Mhz CPU to fan cooled versions with VIA 1.5 Ghz and Pentium-M processors, making it the ideal car PC solution. It includes an intelligent power supply that is designed for
automotive use and can be mounted under a seat or in the trunk. It has special silicone rubber shock-mounts for the internal hard drive and supports one or two 2.5" drives and SATA RAID is
available. Three cooling fans are available for cooling. The CPC 1000 is an ideal mobile solution when a rugged pc is needed in any type of vehicle.
The CPC 1000 has wide input voltage tolerance (6-24V) and can handle tough engine
cranks (down to 5.7V) and still keep going. It also handles tough transient over-voltage situations. The system constantly monitors your car battery voltage levels, preventing deep discharge situations by automatically shutting down until battery levels reach safe levels again. This avoids computer rebooting during car starting and dead batteries when the car is not running.
